Hi, I'm 32 wks pregnant with my first and just now doing my cloth diaper research. I've purchased 6 BG 4.0 one-size (OS) cloth diapers from CottonBabies and am considering getting some covers with inserts and prefolds as well. Has anybody had positive experiences with the Flip system? I am thinking that I could use the Flip covers and prefolds (cheaper) or inserts inside. Hubby and I are trying to save money on diapering so I was hoping to use both the BG one-size and covers with inserts instead of buying exclusively BG cloth diapers, which can get pricey when it all adds up. Any thoughts, advice, or comments would be greatly appreciated!
Re: bumGenius 4.0 and Flip?
I like the Flips too! We use them when we are out a lot because it's less to carry in the diaper bag. I like the versatility - you can use prefolds, organic inserts, MF inserts, and disposables. We mainly use the stay dry inserts although I have occasionally done prefolds if I've run out of the stay dry ones. We also use the disposable inserts occasionally when we are away and we used them to help our family get used to using cloth.
I think the Flips are very trim and cute and easy to use. We haven't had any leaks with them either. I have 5 covers right now and can easily get by for a day on that, maybe even longer since I reuse the covers. I used pockets and AIO's as well though.
On a side note, I heard a rumor that the new patterns for the Flip covers would be coming out in the next few months. I am waiting until they come out to buy more!
