anyone's kid hate underwear?

we just potty trained our son this week, and he has done great, but the kid hates putting on underwear in the morning.  i'm talking full on tantrum.  he doesn't want a diaper on, cause he keeps saying no more diapers, but pretty much would prefer to go commando.  we ultimately get the underwear on him, and then he does fine all day until the time comes to put another pair on (ie- after naptime cuase he still wears a diaper for naps).  

anyone else experience this? any suggestions? we have bought pretty much every cool character design we can think of, let him pick out packs at the store, have tried different sizes... i'm at a loss for what else to do...

I went through this, I told her she had to wear panties (and clothes for that matter) if she wanted to go, I had a few days of waiting her out but she started realizing I wasn't kidding about not leaving...

I also told her why she wore underwear 'they cover your bottom' and showed her that I was wearing them as well.
