DD starts daycare soon and I'm looking at ordering labels for her bottles, etc. I've heard wonderful things about inchbug, and other similar companies, but are they worth the price? Why is it better than masking tape and a sharpie?

I think the washable name labels for bottles are worth it but not the removable date stickies. It is nice to just be able to write the date quickly and not full name. For dating, I use a dry erase marker or Avery removable labels that are $3.99 for 500.
We have always ordered from Mabel's labels, and the labels on the bottles we used for my almost 4.5 year old son still are there working great for my 6 month old baby. We have them on all our little lunch containers too.
It's really nice not to have to rewrite/redo after every time you wash them. They go through the dishwasher (the food containers, not the bottles) just fine.
We purchased both the rubber-band type labels (nice, because you can transfer from bottle to sippy cup) and also the stickers.
The stickers were by far the best value. We have put them on everything and they go through the dishwasher, multiple hand-washing, and wear/tear just great. They were definitely worth the money.
I know I'm late on this, but I've had the same set of Inchbug bands since DS started daycare at 11 weeks. He's over 3 now. They are great transitioning from bottles to sippers to thermos to water bottle.
I also found that you can write on so many plastic containers with Sharpie and it washes right off with a good dish soap like Dawn.
I like Name Bubbles. They've really held up nicely in on DD's clothes and sippy cups so far but I might get the Inchbug orbit label for her cups because she has so many.
IMO, yes the inchbug bands are totally worth it. We did end up using making tape and marker to date each bottle and mark the amt of formula, but I think the inchbug labels made our kids' bottles more recognizable (no one else was using them in the infant room at the time). We use them now for other cups; it helps us tell them apart. I figure we'll eventually use them on water bottles, etc.
Re: Are inchbug labels (and others) worth the price?
Yes, they are.
