Question (kind of long)

Hey ladies-- I don't really post a lot, but that will soon change.. I have a quick question and was wondering if any of you ladies had a similar experience.

I am just about 26 weeks pregnant with twins and have had a pretty easy pregnancy thus far... I have noticed however that lately when I lie down on my left side, I get these spasms of pain that come out of no where. The pain starts in my right lower back and radiates around to the front and into my lower right groin/pelvis area. It has been off and on for about two weeks now, but nothing really severe. Last night however, I woke up in severe pain and I couldn't even get up. As quick as it came, it left and I was able to move around and walk...  Could this be round ligament pain like my doctor suggested, or something else? I will be seeing my OB again on 1/27, so I will bring it up then, but just wanted to reach out to you ladies as well. Thanks so much if you got through all of this.

Re: Question (kind of long)

  • @ 26w with twins I wouldn't speculate about severe pain.  I'd call my OB and be seen, just to be safe.  I'm sure its nothing, but its always better to be cautious.

  • I agree, just to be safe I would call and not wait another week.  At 26 weeks I told my doc I "just felt different".  More sore, more tired, more out of breathe, small pains but nothing I thought I could call contractions.  (this was my 2nd pregnancy so I thought I knew the extreme feeling I should be looking for).  Sure enough I was in pre term labor have small regular contractions and slowly dialating.  My story ends well with 2 100% healthy babies delivered at 34 weeks.  But thank God that I listened to my body and insisted on a check to be safe.
