Waking up hungry?

I find that I wake up hungry most mornings. Has anyone else noticed this and has there been anything you have done that helped? I am thinking of eating something fairly high in protein before bed. I know I am pregnant, but, I normally do not eat anything after dinner. I'm a health nut, but, I don't think its good I'm waking up hungry most mornings. I woke up at 3 am to pee the other morning and all I wanted to do was to get a snack. (I didn't cause it was cold and I was tired.)

  • Me, too. I try to eat a little something before bed. I keep a protein bar next to the bed and when I get up around 3am to pee (seems to be almost every night) I eat about half of it. When I've done that, I've felt MUCH better when I get up.

    Hope that helps! =D

  • I had this issue for a few weeks in November, but it eased up. Then I started waking up hungry again this week. It gets bad enough sometimes that it makes me nauseated (great...another reason! lol). I keep raw almonds and a full bottle of water on-hand near the bed in case I get really hungry at night. I also started eating a protein bar or other filling snack before bed, and that has helped a lot.

  • This has been happening to me too lately. I don't like to eat late at night but I have a couple times to try and stop the hunger. The protein bar seems like a good idea. I wonder if a few sips of a protein drink would work. My pee break is at 4am but I don't usually want to eat in case I can't fall back asleep.

  • I have been very hungry, as early as an hour after a big meal. I consider myself to me a health nut too and don't want to over do it. My husband says if I don't eat, that the baby will still eat. She is never hungry. She will take it out of me where ever she can get it from- my bones and muscles. That thought has been enough to send me back into the kitchen. I am 18 weeks, and have gained 10 lbs-I am good with it. I am little freaked out, since this is the heaviest I have ever been in my life. We are making a baby here!
