Is there any easy way to find out if a license has been suspended? I have a gut feeling that Ex's has been suspended. He hasn't tried to visit lately but I know he probably will in Feburary and I don't want him taking LO. My cousin works for SWAT and said he could find out, but wouldnt be able to tell me. He then said he would take action if it was suspended and he tried to take Wy.
Is this something that child support services would know? or are they unable to tell me too?
Re: suspending license
My enforcement officer would tell me what enforcements have happened such as my ex hasn't had a valid license since 2003 b/c of failure to pay CS and keeping his arrears so high.
I would always pose the question to my Enforcement officer, "What have we put into effect to make it important to him to become current or to pay CS?"
Then she would whine I've suspended his license so if he gets caught driving he'll get a fine. And I've suspended his passport so if he tries to get one or leave the country he'll be denied.
Nope, no one can tell you. Well, if you know his DL number then you can look it up yourself in some states. Here in WA it's right on the DOL website. Just input the DL and wham-o, you have information on whether it's valid or not.
My CS officer cannot tell me if it is in effect yet, but will tell me that she put the paperwork through for it to be suspended. So you could ask.
My lawyer couldn't find out anything. If she ran a check it would just show her any tickets he got etc. not the current status.
My best advice, start with your CS officer to see if she/he put the paperwork in. Then google your local DOL and check online. Try e-mailing them to see also. When my xh moved to Montana he tried to tell me he got a license there. It took a few quick e-mails to the DOL there to find out he attempted to get one but was denied. Print, in file for documentation
