These meds are making me feel crazy

I took my first dose of Cipro (antibiotic) and Dexamethasone (steriod) this morning.  I feel so off. I cannot concentrate on anything, my heart is racing, I am sweating and everytime I stand up I get a wave of light dizziness.

I had food with the pills - I am not sure if I should call the nurse or just wait and see if it gets better soon.  I took both of these with my fresh cycle and I remember the cipro making me sick to my stomach but I don't remember feeling like this.

Sorry about the s/e.  I hope they go away soon!

  • That's a REALLY strong antibiotic.  I'm actually shocked u have one so strong.  That would treat a sinus infection or pneumonia (or anthrax exposure).  I take zpak...which is super weak.

I really think that med is why u feel weird.  BTW, i'm a drug rep...hence my odd drug facts.

I just looked it up and saw that it was used to treat anthrax!  Yep I am supposed to take it twice a day for 5 days now and again after transfer.  I remember I didn't feel great on it last time but thought it was just sick to my stomach.  Maybe it was this and I just don't remember...it feels like a lifetime ago.

I feel exactly like I did when I took some med to prevent malaria when I was going to the Dominican Republic.
