IVF #3: talk me off the ledge, please.

I had my second clinic appointment this morning. I had twelve measurable follies, some are already mature (15's), my e2 is high, they're triggering me tonight. 

I only stimmed 7 days. This is my shortest stim cycle ever (IVF #1 was 9 days, IVF #2 was 8 days). I felt like they were pushing me a bit too hard with the follistim two days ago and by the time I stimmed last night I knew today would be a trigger day. I can't find my IVF #2 calendar, but I remember that they dropped my dose three times. Maybe it's just different this time because I'm two years older?

I know 12 follicles are good, but my fear is that I stimmed too fast and that many of them wont have mature eggs, or worse, that they will overgrow between now and retrieval and be duds.

This is my last ever fresh and I feel overwhelmed by what's happening right now

I have always stimmed fast, regardless of dosage, etc. My follies were about the same size and at retrieval all but 6 were mature (I had 27 follies retrieved but only 20ish on the last u/s).

I am a fast stimmer too which is why the RE does the anatagonist protocol, but honestly I think you are going to be good.

I stimmed much faster for my IVF than I did for any of my 5 injectible cycles.  I had 7 follicles and we only got 5 eggs   I would not worry about 15's being overmature by retrieval.  I think they don't consider them too mature until they are 23-25ish, and I think they typically grow 1mm/day? I know it's so hard not to worry.  Hang in there, sister...  ((HUGS))

I really don't have any advice.  It sounds like you're going to be fine though.  I don't blame you for feeling overwhelmed.  The process is so overwhelming and such a roller coaster.  I am sending positive vibes your way!  Hang in there!

Taking 7-9 days to stim sounds pretty reasonable...I think you're going to be just fine.  I know the whole process is totally stressful, and there is so much you can't control, but just remember your RE does this every day and has your best interest in mind.  Best of luck!!

Don't worry! I only stimmed for 4 days with IVF#2, had 11 measurable follies and got 10 mature eggs, 9 of which fertilized normally. Stimming fast can be perfectly ok! Wishing you the best!

My last IVF (4th) fresh, I stimmed in 6 days!  I was shocked, certain it would fail since I hadn't seen anyone stim that quickly.  I also only retrieved 12 eggs other cycles I retrieved between 18 and 30 eggs.  It was the oddest cycle yet and it brought me my boys - it's so hard not to obsess over the details but every cycle is different and sometimes different is better.  GL!!!

I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but I stim forever and I feel like I just have to be frying my eggs.

Maybe it is just like they say each pregnancy is different, each cycle can be different.  I hope everything goes well.

I think this says it all. I know you are feeling lot of pressure this cycle. Take a deep breath. Your numbers look great! You are going to have some stellar embies! good luck hon

Thanks ladies, so so so so so much.

Deep breaths. My mom is on her way here to help with the kids this weekend. I feel a lot better knowing that they'll be in good hands. I keep telling myself I did my best and the rest isn't up to me.

even if a lot of them aren't ideal, with twelve eggs i'm sure you will have a few good ones. my retrieved eggs were crap, only a third of them fertilized, but then we transferred two and both stuck. so i'm sure that even if the eggs aren't perfect you will still have a great chance of getting pregnant.
