  • I love her.  I really do.

And I want to slap some of those, "My husband and I feel that my place is at home raising my child, not letting a daycare do it" women.

Me too.  I don't know why it bothers me so much, but it does.

  • I love the "I want to stay home and raise my baby" as if working mothers just send their kids off into the street to be raised by wolves. Dumbasses.

  • I will quote xBrooklyn on this one...I would like to kick them in the neck. I hate anyone with a holier than thou opinion about anything, though.

It bothers me because I HAVE to work.  Believe me, I would love to be home-but don't for one second think that my daycare lady is "raising" my child.  Basically, it just belittles everyone who has to work or *god forbid* chooses to work because they love what they do and worked hard to get there.  Working moms can provide a very valuable role model to their children.  But, by no means is either choice a bad one.

  • wow, that's just waking me sad. No offense to SAHMs, I mean, I'd love to SAH myself, but to think you have nothing else to offer than that. And re: raising the kids?I guess PAC should just start call his nanny ?mom? then. Geez. I agree with whoever quoted X?they need a kick in the neck.

  • I work two days a week. Truthfully, I admire moms that work full time and raise kids. I could never handle that stress!

DD goes to daycare when I work and its awesome for her. She gets more interaction with kids her age and learns so much at daycare. Its funny that self-righteous SAHM's will say a daycare is "raising" a child, but when they go to school, the teacher isn't "raising" your child, right? Such a contradiction.

Parents raise kids. Daycares care for them, and teach them. Its a completely different thing.

Probably, but I remember reading some of her posts and I truly felt bad for her.  She did have an awfully rough time for awhile.

She's not being overly-dramatic.  She hated every minute of being a SAHM and posted about it regularly.  I felt sorry for her at first, but when people repeatedly tried to offer helpful suggestions, even people she was regularly nasty to on the board, she would shoot them all down as having "no idea" what she was going through and insult them for their "stupidity," "narrow-mindedness," blah blah blah.  Lots of whining from her but little effort or apparent desire to make things better.  It got tiresome after a while and frankly, it was her son I felt sorry for.
