just wondering: does your DCP know your name?? lol. i swear our daycare teachers have no clue what our names our. they refer to us a "mom" or "dad." drives me kinda crazy since there are only 4 babies in the room you'd think they would learn our names?? but then i thought maybe they just never bother cause kids are changing rooms/high turnover or something? its not a big deal, just curious

Yes! It strikes me as totally strange that they aren't bothering to learn your names. Even though we've been at our center for.ev.er, so of course they know us by now, they knew our names within days of when we first started. Not only that, but everyone in the building knows our kids by name, even the teachers who aren't directly caring for them.

i actually have no idea if they do. i dont' think they've ever called me by my first name. i do think they just use mom and dad. but it doesn't bother me at all.

haha i don't think they do. they greet me by saying, "hi, mama!" our nephew used to be in the infant room, and the teacher has asked us to remind her what my SIL's name is.

I think a few of them do, and the directors/owner definitely do. However, all the teachers in the center know my kids' names.

this - everyone (even teachers that I've never met) know DD's name.  The director(s) know my name, and I'm not sure about the teachers.  They usually just say 'mom' and 'dad' to everyone (although I've heard them use the first names of the 'parent partners' - "Kari is going to send an email to everyone about the Christmas party next week" - but when Kari is in the room, she still refers to her as 'mom').  

Doesn't really bother me.  My name is on her sheet attached to her cubby, along with my phone number, so it's there for them to know, but at the same time, I have no idea what their last names are.

same boat. i mean they might know our names, they just don't use them which is just odd to me cause I so use people's names in conversation so much. 

they definitely all know DS's name regardless of if they care for him. 

i was just curious if this norm
