I have a really gross issue with my dog... and my underwear.

I have a 1.5 year old lab/hound female. Since i've gotten pregnant, she would go thru my laundry hampers (with lids) and eat the crotch out of my underwear and even ate a few crotches out of PANTS that I was wearing. Background - I don't wear pants more than one day, ever. So I started taking my laundry right down to the laundry room and washing it, or gating her out of the laundry room which as worked. That seemed to help. This morning before I ran some errands, I had sorted my clean laundry on my bed to put away. I came home, and she had eaten my CLEAN underwear. I'm SO mad at her. I don't even have to yell at her because she KNOWS she was bad. I didn't understand the dirty laundry. I googled alot and didn't come up with much. But the clean underwear??? I don't get it. It's CLEAN. Washed in hot water. WTF??

I have to bury my underwear in the basket when I take them off, my older dog (black lab/greyhound mix) loves them.  I think it's natural for dogs to like the smell, my dog loves to bury his head in everyone's crotch. 

Lately, I've had issues with him going in the bathroom garbage can and getting the panty liners out and eating them, it's so gross!  We got a garbage with a lid but he figured that out so now we have to make sure the bathroom door is shut when we leave the house.

Dogs have an incredible sense of smell, even if your underwear are clean, they can still pick up that smell.  Good luck, I know it's totally gross.

My dogs love my underwear too... both are males...so gross and creepy!

We have two pugs who do this as well.  They have ruined several pairs of underwear and pants.  I have trained myself to take my laundry right to the laundry room to avoid this.  Good luck, we haven't found a solution other than getting everything put away to avoid giving them the chance.

And it's not even my cheap fruit of the loom undies. It's all my expensive Motherhood ones. WTF!! And I finally found ones that fit, like a glove while pregnant and she has eaten most of them. GRR!

I have a male lab/pit and he likes my underwear (and the crotch of my pjs) too. Luckily, I can bury it in my hamper and he doesn't bother digging through the hamper. Never could figure it out.. Glad I'm not the only one.

My 2 year old lab has always eaten my underwear... she doesn't just eat the crotch, though... she swallows them whole and then either barfs them up or poops them out a few days later. I put them in the bottom of the hamper and she still manages to find them. I have to fold all undies immediately or she will eat the clean ones, too. I know exactly how you feel. I'm always buying new undies.

I have two dogs and they work as a team to get to my panties, panty liners and yes, the stuff that you use when you're not pregnant... Absolutely disgusting. We had to get a heavier lid on the bathroom garbage and I always keep the door shut to the bathroom (where the laundry and closet is too). Could you close a door and keep the dog out?

This is a daily problem at my house! My 2 dogs LOVE my underwear. It grosses me out and makes me so mad. I came into my laundry room to find them each chewing through my brand new underwear I had only worn once...then found an entire pile of my new underwear "hidden" in the back of their kennel...like they've been hoarding them. So I figured I'd bury them in the laundry basket and they would leave them alone, nope dug them all out and shredded them. So now I have resorting to hiding any underwear up high enough on a laundry room shelf until they are washed. I don't get why they do it, I guess based on smell, but it's disgusting and it was getting expensive replacing underwear every week.

I've had a few dogs do that and the only solution I've found was a well-lidded hamper. Stranger still - my cat *loves* DHs boxers. Luckily she doesn't destroy them, but she cuddles up with them in a very unseemly way.

My boy pug does this... He doesn't have the strength to destroy them, but he chews on the dirty ones. My girl pug mostly doesnt bother with them at all!

I have no advice for you but wanted you to know I have the same problem! I just try to keep everything organized and away from them.

Yep, our female dog will destroy undies, boxers, pj pants or even actual pants (jeans once!)... clean or dirty. We have no solution other than not leaving these things anywhere within her reach. I don't want to think about all the $$$ she has eaten in clothing!!

My dog just started doing this in the past month or so after a year and a half of never doing such things. Granted he hasn't eaten the crotch out of the undies, he just slobbers all over them and leaves them in random rooms of the house. It's so gross and very unfortunate when MIL comes in the house at the same time I do and I have to try to explain.

I have no advice, but I just wanted to say how grateful I am that my dog does not destroy my clothes...she only pulls my pants out of the laundry and cuddles with them in her crate. She also likes stealing my shoes, but she's very gentle wkth them too.

I do have to mention(TMI alert) that years ago before we started keeping the bathroom garbage in a cabinet, she managed to eat a tampon and partially poop out the string (yes, I had to help her with that one...gross)!

This post totally makes me happy (to know my dog is not the only underwear eater).   I'm going to share TMI (WARNING) but my dog also likes my husbands *** too...yuck!  Me and hubby do the dirty and he will *** and wipe it off me with a shirt or something he was wearing and I will catch the dog licking the shirt if I don't throw it in the laundry right away.  I told ya it was TMI, but dogs really like the nastiest crap sometimes.  I also had a friend who owned a mini doxie that ate the bathroom garbage can and would actually shred tampons and pads (used ones).
