I say all of the above, in addition to the ability to NOT act like a complete arse in public. Such as yelling at service providers for no apparent reason, emulating Snooki, etc. I see far to much of that these days. There are a lot of people out there that seem to be under the mistaken impression that the world owes them something simply because they exist.
I know my grandma used to say that a true lady walks in a straight line - one foot directly in front of the other. I always think about that in the winters when I can see my footprints and try to correct my posture and gait so my steps line up.
Stay at home mom to a house of boys: two amazing stepsons, 12 and 9, and our 4 year old.
Re: S/O: Being a 'lady'
In no particular order:
- Knowing that you have value and asserting your self-worth
- Confidence (not to be confused with arrogance)
- The ability to be gracious and humble (not to be confused with being a doormat)
- Being a good/trustworthy confidante
- Standing up for your beliefs
I think being a lady is possessing strength and grace under pressure
More specifically (because I like to spell it out if you hadn't noticed. lol)
Being a lady is:
1. Vccake for sharing her mom and her emotion and her thanks
2. It's ek who has reached out to a nestie recently. and all of you who do this regularly (nestieclaus posts brought tears to my eyes)
3. It's erin who has shared her dad and many safety tips
4. It's bubbly who shares the things that are hard to talk about
5. it's warrior mom
(I could keep going...but ya get the picture?)
1. Courage
2. Strong sense of self worth
3. Carisma
4. Intelligence
5. Empathy
I think Proverbs 31.
