Cloth Diapering

CD's for shower gift?

My dear friends insist on having a "sprinkle" for me. (I have one daughter, and typically would not be a fan of 2nd showers, to each their own, but this has been 4 years and a TON of tears in the making, I cannot change their minds. lol.)

I'm actually pregnant with twins (b/g) but we're not sure our son is going to make it. The docs are pessimistic, Momma is hopeful.

My agreement to the shower is that it's not about the gifts, and they suggested just adding to my CD stash. OK! Great! Who doesn't need more cute fluff!

I am TOTALLY set for newborn-3 months, (with tons of sized covers, prefolds, etc)with a few one-sized pockets/AI1/AI2 etc for down the road. Since I've never actually USED CD's nor have the bab(ies) here to see what works for them, I'm going to need some generic suggestions.

So, if the guests ask (and they will) how/what do they suggest to buy? And is there ONE online store to suggest? (I have lots on my FB feed, too overwelming. We do have ONE local CD store to recommend, that ships as well)

And do you have any cute ways to turn this into a "theme" or some cutsie way to work this into the invites or party?

thx.

  • It's a diaper shower with a twist!

Huggies and Pampers won't be missed.

She'd rather use bamboo or cotton

    Or microfiber that you've boughten

Cloth diapers are the way to go!

(She's registered at the store below.)

I fully admit that it's a terrible poem. Congratulations and good luck with your pregnancy! I would register somewhere, either with the local store or just with any popular one online.

    lol that poem is precious.

OP, you could create an amazon registry for just CDs (its what I did) then you can take advantage of the 10% completion coupon to get anything you still need.

  • Cottonbabies.com has BGs and Flips, but I'm not so sure you can register with them.

That being said, I have a ton of BG's on my amazon registry.  Amazon is great because you can add anything from any store to your baby registry.

  • I'd probably register with your local store for local shoppers, and on Amazon for things you want to try that they don't carry. Also, register for a variety of styles. IO know you've been told this before, but don't put all your eggs in one basket.

I will say I had very little (no) luck getting CDs from my shower. We needed other stuff too, but cloth diapers would have been appreciated... we were still given disposables even though we only registered for cloth.

  • I registered with Abbyslane.com and received quite a few items (even though none of my guests knew a thing about cloth diapers).  Highly recommend the site!  Plus, there's always free shipping, which people appreciate.

  • thanks everyone!

LOVE the poem, btw. SUPER cute!
