DH is out of town this week, Warner has a cough that I'm worried is going to turn into a full on cold, plus he's still adjusting to his new room/bed with no pacifier for the first time in his life so he's not sleeping all that well (and he's usually a champion sleeper at night).
Plus, the fetus has decided that the best place to sit is direct on my bladder so every time I have even the slightest urge to pee, if I don't go right away, it's pretty darn painful. Basically, I've peed about every 30 minutes today. Also, I'm a burping machine, it's ridiculous...I'm SO glad I don't work in an office right now, people would think I'm disgusting.
I still have a mountain of a "to do" list before I'll feel even remotely ready for this baby to get here. So at night whenever I wake up to pee or to deal with whatever Warner needs, I can't go back to sleep because my mind is racing with all the crap I have to do.
And I have actual work to do, because (and this is a good thing) my graphic design business is doing really well...but OMG, it's just a lot to try to handle right now.
(and don't even get me started on the dumb fact that I'm jealous of DH in California right now, staying in a fancy hotel, meeting with Apple at their fabulous offices, eating at awesome restaurants...no fair!)
Re: need to vent (possible tmi)
I'm always jealous of DH when he goes on trips - not just staying in a fancy hotel, but being able to sleep uninterrupted!!
Pregnancy really is a nightmare of bodily functions to the nth degree...
Hopefully Warner gets some sleep soon so you can get some rest.
I hope you get some rest soon. That makes everything so much easier to handle.
And poo on DH. I hope he brings you back something pretty.
Ugh, there are definitely times when pregnancy is no fun at all. I would be super jealous if DH went on a business trip and I don't have nearly as much going on as you!
Just the luxury of time and solitude and not having to think about anyone else's needs but your own...ahhh those were the days! Of course, I'd give up all that for DS any day, but a break sure would be nice once in a while
You should plan a day all to yourself when he gets back.
You should definitely have a Mommy's Day Off when your DH gets back in town! He gets up with Warner, entertains him all day, feeds him dinner & then puts him to bed. You get to do whatever you want inside or out of the house.
I give everyone with spouses that travel lots of kudos. I think I would be going crazy after day 2.
I hope you get a break when your DH gets back. I did a two-week stint back in October with both kids on my own (and getting myself to work everyday) and the first few days I thought I would loose it. And it certainly didn't help when DH would complain about being away.
Maybe in the meantime you could get a mommy's little helper or a babysitter to come in a couple times just to give you some breathing room and let you get some of the stuff on your to-do list done. I'm a racing-mind-in-the-middle-of-the-night person too, so I feel you!
Oh, I'm so sorry. That is really rough.
and yes, this makes it that.much.worse!
thanks, everyone! he comes home tomorrow night and I'm sure I'll get a nice mommy day on Saturday or Sunday. But with all that we have to do around the house, plus my work, I won't have much time to pamper myself, however, it will be nice to have some me time even if I'm working :-)
