When did DC go to 1 nap a day?

DS is almost 15 months. I thought he was transitioning to 1 nap a day because he would not take 2 consistently.

Well, the past few days he has been so tired in the morning...he literally laid on the floor this morning. I guess he is not ready for just 1. But then the afternoon ones are crap. It's hard to get both kids on the same schedule!

I think DD was around this age also and I remember it being so hard to get the timing right for a while.

Anyway, when did your DC go to 1?

  • Around 20 months.

His 1 nap has been getting shorter and shorter, too, which bites. But he's STTN, which is a good thing.

  • It took about 1 week for me to transition him at 15 months.
  • Around 20 months.  He still takes two on occasion if he gets up really early.  I really miss the 4 hours worth of naps...he only does about 2 or 2.5 now.
  • Miles is in transition...he is also fifteen months old. I only "make him" take one nap a day. Sometimes he goes to sleep on my bed in the morning on his own, but he always gets an afternoon nap, whether he slept in the morning or not.
  • DS transitioned himself at about 14 months.
  • #1 transitioned at like 15-16 months

#2 transitioned more like 13, almost 14 months. But it sucks -- he takes one late morning nap (11-12:30 or 1) because I have to get #1 at school at 1:15, and then he melts down from 5 until bedtime.

  • young - like about a year.

  • BTW, if you can be  a little flexible during the transition it's ok to have some 2 nap days when he seems to need it (like putting his head down on the floor!) and some 1 nap days when that seems better...
  • At daycare - 15 months

    At home - 18 months
