One day past my due date, so every little twinge gets me wondering! I like to think I've kept up to speed with whats going on..... But what are these painful stabs in the lower belly?  And I'm not talking lightening crotch... been there done that

any idea?

are they short bursts? how long is their duration?  Ultimately I'd call your doc, but without more detail I'm not sure....RLP? early contrax/BH? bad gas?  I really don't know

I have felt them too. Maybe it's ligaments stretching. Mine also feel like skin being stretched to its max, or baby pushing an already stretched-to-the limit tummy.

My contractions felt like stabs in my lower abdomen. If they are so painful you can't talk through them maybe you should head to the hospital. Mine started out annoying but quickly got painful.
