So I bought some ham this week and now I dont' know what to do with it. I need to make something "ham-y" tonight for supper. All I can think of is mac n cheese with ham but I'm trying not to eat too much dairy. Any suggestions? And as a reminder, I'm gluten-free right now.
Any great suggestions?

Re: I need a recipe that uses ham
Au-Gratin potatoes and ham!
3-4 russet potatoes
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Power
Onion Powder
Heavy Cream
Shredded Sharp Cheese
Cut the ham into cubes and slice the potatoes. I usually leave the skin on but clean it really well first. In a caserole dish using a layering method, add the potatoes, ham, heavy cream, shredded sharp cheese and seasonings. Continue to layer until all ingredients are gone and top with shredded cheese and additional seasonings once more.
You do not have to cover but can if you choose to. Place in the oven at 375 and cook for approximately one hour. Dinner is complete when the potatoes can be punctured with a fork.
Split pea soup?
Fritata? https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/frittata-recipe/index.html
Ham fried rice?
mmmm ham...just eat the ham!
Potato soup with ham sounds really good too. https://www.food.com/recipe/loaded-baked-potato-soup-gluten-free-186886
Yum to the frittata. I've never tried one but tonight may be the night.

I just made a crockpot ham a few nights ago that was to die for.......
6 pound ham
2 cans of crushed pineapple
2 cups brown sugar
2 large pinches of ground cloves
Crockpot on high for 4-5 hours.
Served with Collards and Mac and Cheese and it was to die for!
What kind of ham?
Is it precooked?
I like to make ham, greenbeans, onion and red potatoes in the crock pot.
I also just cook a whole or half ham in the oven (in a bag with a can of coke).
You could make some blackeyed peas with ham in it and cornbread---if you do this, invite me over. Yum

This sounds delish! Too bad it needs to cook for 4-5 hours... maybe I'll try this another day.

Do you just pile it all in the crockpot? Or is there some sort of recipe for this. It sounds good!

I just pile it all in with lots of pepper, some salt and maybe some garlic salt.
You could probably pre boil your potatoes or cut them in quarters to cut down the cook time.
You dont have to use the crock pot, you could use a big pot on the stove too.
I make this with smoked sausage too.

Here's the recipe. All you need is gluten free bisquick
That looks delicious! Unfortunately, there is no gluten-free bisquick in Canada yet. Hmph.

Sorry jenn0021...Maybe there's a bisquick alternative that's gluten free? I know they have gluten free recipes on the same website as well.
BarooGirl -
You will fall in love with these. They're SO easy to make and there are so many different kinds! They make the perfect left overs. They stay the same texture even the day after!
