Breast Feeding an 8 Year Old????

So I was searching through YouTube last night for funny baby videos and one popped up of a woman who is still breast feeding her 8 year old!!!

I fully plan to breast feed my babies but to me if your child can say "Mom, let me suck on your boob" it is time to stop....

WTF?  That is just wrong!  I dated a guy once who had a 4 year old nephew that was still being breastfed.  His SIL never wore a bra so that the kid had "easy access."  We would be sitting at dinner (in his home) and the kid would walk right up, lift up her shirt and take a drink.  It totally grossed me out...one of the many reasons I am not with him anymore (his family was nuts).

8 seems absurd! i'm totaly of the mindset that if they are old enough to a)walk around, and b) ask for it, they are TOO OLD! 8 is just ick tho.

I bet her boobies hang down to her toes by now! I BF'd my baby for 6 months... until she was starting to bite and it HURTS! BF is not an easy task, and it's not for everyone... but 8 years... eek...

 BTW, be prepared with BF for cracked, chapped, bleeding nipples... PAINFUL!  But once they get used to it, it's a great bonding experience.

She had breast fed her other child until she was 5...but she said as long as the child wants to, she will do it.

It was very disturbing to watch her talk about it and then it showed the 8 year old asking to have some and then she saddled up and got to drinking. Gross.

Thats almost at the point of sexual abuse IMO. Once they have teeth and can ask for it, its time to stop.

Ew!  Breastfeeding is great and I plan to breastfeed my children, but when they are infants.  Any thing after age 2 kinda freaks me out.  8?!

but anyway... the little girl was like "I don't think anyone should ever stop breastfeeding!!  It tastes better than a mango even!"  - Exact words from 8 year old LOL

haha, laughing at tastes better than a mango. This is sick, I am all for breastfeeding and what is better for your child, but think of the issues both the child and mom will have later. ?

If only you could have heard the horrified gasping sound I made when I read the post topic!    I made myself laugh with the sound of it!!  But seriously, that is gross!  Not only will that kid have major issues, the mom obviously has serious issues already.  If she's still BFing at 8, how old do you think the kids will have to be before she "lets" them move out?  45?!
