FTM here and have not felt anything from my girl! Well, I have had a few moments of possibly only wishful thinking (was that her or the bumps on the road.... the bass from my car stereo?). I know that some FTM's don't feel anything until 24 weeks or so but it makes me so anxious! It's been a bit since we've seen her and we only get to hear her once a month. Can I just get a kick a day or something to know you're all good? She is measuring small (7oz at 19 weeks) and I am overweight.... Not sure if these things make a difference .
Thanks for listening.
Re: Having some serious "movement envy"
I asked my midwife about the overweight thing and that's BS. It only effects when someone ELSE feels baby from the OUTSIDE... YOU will feel it from the INSIDE no matter how heavy you may be. That said, an Anterior placenta can effect if you feel it. Baby may be kicking placenta and not ute and you may not feel it.
I started feeling baby around 18w and I have both an AP AND I'm heavy (ish) ha!
I notice baby more if I sit and lean forward a bit, or lie on my side or drink OJ... but it depends on the day. Even now, I am having LIGHT movement days, which is freaking me out, but is supposed to be common! I read that 24-28 weeks is the heaviest movement time since baby has tons of room! Don't worry, she'll be dancing for you in no time!
your weight wont have anything to do with you being able to feel LO... I didnt feel ANYTHING until I was 21w6d, then nothing for a few days. It started getting regular at around 22w4d... Now he is kicking hard enough H just felt him for the first time last night...
I do have placenta previa, so it took a little longer until I was able to feel it. GL!
Feel your pain. 1005 It doesn't help that yesterday when I was at the doctor yesterday he asked me 3 or 4 times if I'd felt movement and seemed bewildered that I hadn't However, I know tha're in there andhealthy (had a quick u/s yesterday, so it's all good.
I hope we both feel movement soon!!!
Thanks for the encouragement, ladies! We always have great check-ups. No mention of anterior or low-lying placenta. I guess I'll just have to work on being patient
.
Allison, I'm glad your babies are doing great! I love reading your updates and often chuckle at your wit!
