My 3 year old moved up to the primary class at her school 3 weeks ago and she is having a hard time adjusting. She loved her teachers in the toddler class and loved school, now she doesn't want to go, even though some of her friends from her old class are there with her. She says she doesn't like eating lunch or taking a nap there (she goes full days 3x a week b/c I work). She says she has trouble opening her lunch and turning on the water in the bathroom. She was in hysterics when I left this morning Edited. She had a great day today. I need to stop over reacting and stick it out!
Re: How long for 3 year old to adjust to new class at school?
Maybe she's not ready. Why don't you speak to the director about having her continue in her former room for a few more months?
If today was a hysterical morning, I would at least ask for her to have a visit of lunch and nap in the old room. Surely, they can accomodate some visits?
