f/u to saving Dh life

Simply put....Dh eats too fast. I ask him to slow down all.the.time and I do worry that no one will be around to help him next time, especially since he is alone, on the road a lot for work. After the other night, I showed him how to properly perform the heimlich on himself.....hopefully this will help.

The first time he choked, were we out to lunch, he pointed to his throat, I rushed out of my seat, I pulled him up out of his, tried the heimlich a few times with my fist, but it didn't work, so I had to push him into the back of the booth seat and it worked on the second try.

Afterwords, that's when the emotions hit - with the above being the first time that I experienced something like that.  It was pretty scary.

CPR class does pay off! I think it's time for me to take a refresher course too.

Now I think I want to take a CPR class. I hope your husband slows down!!! The food isn't going anywhere!!

The last time my FIL choked (3rd time it had happened) his neice and her husband were at a restaurant with him and the husband is a physical therapist  who had CPR.  The other times it has had to be a stranger that knew it.  FIL's problem is that he eats too fast as well.  So scary and I am so glad your DH is ok!

Thank goodness you knew what to do, so many people (myself included) don't.

It is very scary to think about that happening when he's alone. I hope he slows down so neither of you have to worry about it again.

I had to go to a CPR class today and I had originally been dreading it, but your post the other day made me realize how you never know when it will come in handy! Glad YH is doing okay. So scary!!
