Moms of 2 - fairy cork question

With dd, I lost my fairy cork the same day I went into labor.  I'm wondering if things happened the same way with your first as it did with your second or if things were way different - when it comes to loosing the cork/ going into labor...

TIA

Re: Moms of 2 - fairy cork question

  • I was induced early with Meredith so I never lost the fairy cork with her. With Alex, I think it was about two weeks between losing it and going into labor. The super gross part was that I didn't just lose it - I apparently kept making more mucous and losing that too. For two freaking weeks. Apparently when the universe doled out super powers, I got mucous production. Tongue Tied

  • I didn't lose the fairy cork either time.

First time, I started dilating at 35 weeks.  At 38 weeks, my water broke.  I was at 4 when I got to the hospital.  He was born 10 hours after my water broke.

Second time, I was a 39 weeks with no progress.  I scheduled to be induced two days before my due date.  At the hospital, I was fully effaced but no dilation.  4 hours of pitocin and she was born.

  • I didn't lose my cork until like 10ish hours into active labor the second time.
