Hello!
Does anyone have any experience with or recommendations for daycares in the Heights area? Alternatively, does anyone know any nannies that will be available in November? I am due in September, and we are trying to get a jump start on looking since from what I hear, they book up fast. We would be enrolling our baby when he/she is 6-12 weeks.
Thanks!
Re: Heights daycare
Smart move! They do book quickly! We're in the Garden Oaks area, so our top five places were geared to our location.
We started our search with the DFPS site and narrowed it down to five places:
Gonzales Daycare, Esperanza, St. Rose, Garden Oaks Baptist, & Childrens Cottage Montessori. All seemed good and I would've been happy with any of these places.
Even though I got on lists 5 months early, only two were available when we needed to start daycare and we decided to go with Childrens Cottage. I love it! We've been sending our daughter for about three months and they're super friendly and helpful. I liked that its a small place. I'm a first time mom so I ask a lot of questions and I like that they helpful, without forcing anything on me.
That is my two-cents. Hope it helps!
You should consider joining Heights Kids group. The forum has over 1000 families and is definitely your best resource for anything kid related in the Heights. There are some restrictions about where new members live, so check the zip codes on the home page but if you're anywhere in the Heights or Rice Military area, you should be fine. There are expectant moms group dinners every month, which is great b/c those moms will be the ones with kids the same age as yours.
