NBR: Tree Service

We have a massive dying tree that needs to be cut down. If it were to fall it could go either on my house or my neighbors, and I'd like to prevent this. It's a Hackberry, so I have no interest in cutting it back, I just want it gone. Due to the size and risk, this is not a DIY or Hire someone cheap, it needs to be someone reputable and insured.

Have any recs for me?

Re: NBR: Tree Service

  • we used Austin Tree Experts to cut down a hackberry and they did a great job... similar situation was going to fall on our house.  They even drilled out the stump which was helpful.

Thanks! I'll check them out! Do you have any clue as to what you paid for this and mind sharing? I have absolutely no concept of what this kind of service costs and am scared for my budget....

  • We've used Austin Tree Experts and Good Morning Tree Service. both did great jobs. I'd suggest getting at least two quotes and go with the cheapest - especially if you pick either of those two, both will do a good job.

  • We paid $800 two years ago-- but that included removing the dying tree and cleaning up all our other trees (three others).
