Do you ever laugh at your LOs tantrums?

Stella has started having some mini-tantrums.  I call them "mini" because I know they're not as bad as they could be (yet).  Last night when DH came home he handed her a box of Teddy Grahams that his Grandfather had given him for her.  We let her have a few and then sat down to eat dinner.  She ate a little bit and then started saying "teddy bear" and whining and refusing to eat the rest of her dinner.  She looked so adorable, sitting in her high chair, and saying "teddy bear" over and over again, I just had to laugh at her.  Toddler emotions are so funny to me, I can't help it!

And no, we didn't let her have any more teddy bears!  Mean Mommy-1, Stella-0.

  • Ha, I say I'm mean too.  I do laugh sometimes, at home I usually try to walk away from her.  I keep thinking that it could and probably will get worse, yuck~

  • We are onto full time meltdowns and fake crying. I laugh at her all the time, usually while walking away or turning my head. She also knows how to tilt her head and act sweet for something she wants which cracks me up.

She is old enough to reason so if she wants something for after dinner we can say "if you eat the rest of x, you can have x". Which is nice.

That is cute, did you get it on video?

  • With all the stuff we are dealing with with Evan.....OMG leah's tantrums have been soooo much worse and more frequent. She is all over the place with emotions..maybe it's a girl thing??
  • Yeah, probably all too often. He just looks so ridiculously cute when he scrunches up his face and tries to be so serious when he tantrums.
  • Yes. She has full crying meltdowns and she looks too cute sometimes. She still isn't speaking much so that just adds to the frustration I think. Ha, sometimes I'll mimick her tantrum which usually stops her right in her tracks:)

  • Charlotte is very dramatic and will flop down on the floor and bury her face in her hands. Then look up to make sure someone is watching her. It is pretty hysterical. I know it will get worse, and the whining certainly wears me down, but she is pretty ridiculous sometimes.

  • yes, sometimes you have to!

Last week I made Evan a pb&j for lunch and brought it out to his table in the living room. He loves to "help" with everything so he was pretty upset that I made his lunch w/out him. He proceeded to lay on the floor crying "do it myself" for about 5-10 minutes. Then he finally got up and started eating... and said (in the saddest little voice) "thanks mom, it is a good peender" (he calls peanut butter- peender) I just had to laugh at him!
