I love Gwen! This was on my list but H disliked it. I don't like Faith, sorry. If you aren't crazy about it, it is ok to not honor both grandmothers. When you choose to honor someone by naming your child, you shouldn't feel guilty for not touching every person you love and want to honor. Some people end up not honoring anyone because they feel like they want to honor everyone and can't - or because they feel like someone would be offended.
Anyhow, even if you don't love Faith but really want to honor both, remember that the middle name, while important, is not used nearly as much as the FN.
Either way, Gwendolyn is a beautiful name! Good choice!
I love this name. My friend named his daughter Harper Faith and he told me later than Gwendolyn had been their number 2 choice. I really wish they'd gone with Gwendolyn instead.
Gwendolyn Faith is AWESOME! I don't think you should beat yourself up trying to honor people with names, but if you have a slam dunk like this one, I'd go for it.

I love Gwendolyn (nn Gwen). I actually like the nickname more than the formal name. I have never cared for the name Faith. It has always sounded cheesy to me. It's a term used so often in religion that the name has become a real turn-off for me. Gwendolyn Faith does have a nice flow though. Without all my baggage, it is a pretty name.
I haven't seen MJ Reilly post yet- but Gwendolen is actually the traditional feminine name. I don't know all the ins and outs of it like she does but I remember it being something about "-lyn" being masculine in Welsh.

I think Gwendolen Faith nn Gwen is lovely!!
That's odd, because my Grandmother is 100% Welsh (her parents were born and raised there). It wouldn't feel right at all to me to change the spelling of the namesake's name!
I think it is sweet. And I like the combo of Gwendolyn Faith, especially since it honors family.
IMO Gwendolyn is slightly juvenile so I think Gwen is a good option for professional situations. And maybe I feel this way because the Gwens I know go by Gwen at work. Sort of like how Bradleys tend to go by Brad when they get older.

FWIW one of our girl name options is Marianne after Marian (pronounced Mary-en), my grandmother and Patricia Ann, DH's deceased mother. DH was adamant about not adding an "e" to Ann for the longest time but realized Mariann just wouldn't work.

Ditto, it goes well and it means something. You can't ask for better!

All I know is what was posted in this thread here: Guinevere/Gwendolyn.

I love the name Gwendolyn my sister just named her little girl Gwendolyn Marie. Just another option for you.
