Yep that was me. Edmund is doing great. We are now 3 months post op for the lip repair. His healing is amazing and he is a completely different boy. I miss his wide smile but I do not miss weekly doctors appointments and the damn appliance that he wore for 3 months to help his cleft close a bit.
We haven't seen a doctor in over 2 months now which is the longest we have gone his entire short life. We used to go once a week and between seeing the doctors at Seattle Children's and seeing his normal pedi it was crazy.
Next week we meet with an ENT, a speech pathologist the Children's pedi and the otolaryngologyst. He will have a hearing test done again to see if he has any hearing issues which are quite common in babies with clefts. We will also be discussing whether or not they think that he will need tubes put in or not.
We will also discuss with the otolaryngologyst about when his palate surgery will be. Then maybe we can finally start having a normal baby that doesn't have any special feeding issues.
