I have got to do something about the kids' closets before the baby arrives. Especially Leo and Charlie's. They are sharing a room and there is no space for any kind of dresser. There is just a small reach in closet and I would really like to get some kind of set up with drawers/shelves in there so I have more space to store clothes.
Does anyone have anything like this? I've looked at Elfa and Rubbermaid and I'm just not thrilled with my options. What have you gone with?
Re: Recommend your closet organization system
I have an entire master closet worth of Elfa shelving in my garage just waiting for installation. I am so freaking excited.
In DD's closet we have a double-hang closet rod (it hangs down from the top bar) so we have twice as much space for hanging clothes. And I used one of those sweater organizers (the kind that hangs from the bar) for putting folded stuff.
We took the doors off of Jack's closet which allowed us to put his dresser in there on the right (shelves above it) and have hanging on left.
We did elfa in both of the boys closets. If you have sliding doors, it limits your drawer options, but remove the doors and walla!
We used Elfa and were very happy with it. However, DH took the time to measure everything, get the consultant to lay everything out on the computer and everything. It was great using double hanging for kids clothes since they are so tiny, it saved lots of space to add drawers and shelves.
And they usually have a huge sale in January.
