1st Trimester

Another Doppler question (sorry)

I should be receiving my Sonoline B doppler on Friday. I will only be 8 weeks 2days so I know this is very early but I've seen lots of video's on youtube of people hearing it at 8weeks and even a few at 7 weeks!

I know the majority is 9weeks+ but I'm wondering if anyone on here has heard it earlier then the 9 week mark.

We are planning on telling our families this coming weekend and would like to be able to have the reassurance of having heard the heartbeat.. So if we don't hear it right away, we might try to wait another few days or even a week if need be but it's getting hard because my family has hinted since Christmas that they know I am pregnant and just today, FIL asked DH if I was pregnant again! I don't see much point in trying to hide it any longer from our families. TIA!

Re: Another Doppler question (sorry)

  • My doctor's still have not been able to hear the heartbeat on the doppler because I have a heavily tilted uterus, but we heard it on the ultrasound at 8 weeks.  I know it is possible, but I haven't heard ours on there yet.

  • I heard mine last Saturday. Not sure which twin though. You have to push hard but not too hard. Move around a lot but slowly. Dont get upset if you dont get it. I think I knew what I was looking for because I used it with my DS.

Wow that's Awesome! Thanks for the advice = ) I remember pretty well when the Dr. did it (with DD) and remember where she would usually find it (how low) so hoping I will not have too much of a hard time!

  • The first time I heard it was around 9w3d, although I did try before then. At that point it was very quiet. Even now, it can be difficult to find. I will find it and then baby will move. I usually only hear it for 15-30 seconds tops.
