DH has always been allowed in every part of my OB appts. At the hospital, DH isn't allowed to be with me for like 30 minutes at first because they want to give women a chance to speak freely about any abuse they are experiencing. Actually, no one is allowed to be with you for the first 30 minutes (not friends, parents, etc.) for that reason.

Vancouver Canada here - at the radiology clinic they don't want dad in for the initial part of the screen. At Women's Hospital they have you both in. Just different practices for different offices. If you were concerned you could insist (talk to the manager etc). I laughed at the person who said change providers..... even in the big city we don't have that many options. Things are different up here! (and I wouldn't want it any other way
My husband had to wait outside while they did the measurements and then they called him in. Frankly I thought that was stupid but didn't make a big stink out of it because I was not in the mood for confrontation.

I'm in Alberta and my DH has been allowed to be in there with me for the whole screening, right from the beginning. We have had 2 u/s so far, the dating and NT and he has been by my side from start to finish for both. Maybe it's the clinic you are going to that won't allow them in.
