Is there anywhere I can try on baby slings/carriers?

I'm thinking this might help me manage a newborn and chase a 2.5 year old.  But I need an easy one to put on when I am by myself and looking at them online is making it hard to tell which one is right.  So is there somewhere that will let me try these things on?

Re: Is there anywhere I can try on baby slings/carriers?

  • My suggestion would be new baby products.  There's one in Snellville.  They have EVERYTHING and are usually really good about letting people try things.  I've got SEVERAL, but none of the really expensive ones (Ergo, Beco, etc.).  I adore my pouch slings for quick trips out - super easy to throw on and go.  They also fit right in the diaper bag.  For longer trips with a little one, or around the house, my absolute favorite is the Moby Wrap.  Once you get the hang of it it's really easy and SUPER comfortable for you and the baby.  I don't think you're too far from me (I'm technically in Lilburn), if you'd like to meet up and try out the ones I've got.  Just let me know!

In terms of stores, I second New Baby Products.  They are awesome!  I tried on my Baby K'tan there before I got it.

I've also heard great things about the Koala Mommas meetings which would be a great chance to try out different carriers.  I haven't been to one, but I wish I had.  https://www.koalamommas.com/

  • I have used my Ergo several times with baby and G. It is easy to do myself.

  • I went off friends recomends in getting my baby k'tan and ergo but I got both at Precious Cargo in Smynra probably to far for you. I'd try the new baby products. I really really loved the baby k'tan especially for younger babies. I love the ergo now that Bryce is older through.

The koalamomma meetings are great, I highly recommend them. I wear dd all the time, and have since she was born - I loved the ring sling at first, and moved on to the ergo and beco. I use the beco now pretty much solely. I have a mei tai which I don't use, and is actually brand new (used less than 5 times), I would sell it to you if you find you like that kind.

  • I highly recommend Amber from Heavenly Hold.  She sells all of the major brand carriers out of her home and you can go to her house and try them on or even rent a few different ones  to see which carrier is the best fit for you.  I am so glad I went over to her house and tried on different carriers, because I was set on the Ergo (judging by how popular it was), but after trying it on, it just wasn't the right fit for my short torso...I ended up getting the Beco Butterfly instead.

This is great! I wish I would have known her before having my first. What a great business.
