initials

So FI and I can not agree on a name for DS2 that we can agree on and we have about 8 weeks left. DS1 was so much easier I loved the name and FI loved it too (Evan Scott). FI is set on Justin Hood, Hood being a family name that I just can not bring myself to use at all and Justin is just NMS. I have really like the name Owen Michael, but my issue is that our last name starts with a G. Owen Michael G_____. OMG! The name Michael is after my father and I love the name Owen. Would that make me one of those crazies for giving my son those initials or not? If it does make me a crazy do you ladies have any suggetions??

If you don't like the initials, then I would not use it. Could you compromise and use Owen Hood?

You are totally right and I should not have gotten worked up over the OMG part. It does not spell out a bad word and I wont make it a big deal or anything. I feel better thanks for calming my irratioanl pregant self down. I seem to be needing alot of calming down lately. Embarrassed

I like Owen Michael a lot better than Justin Hood although I could get onboard with Owen Hood. We almost named DS#2 Owen Michael and then I started hearing it a lot. I even met two kids in one week with the fn/mn Owen Michael. I think using Hood as the mn could make it a little more unique and then you wouldn't have to worry about the O.M.G.

The only time I understand a parent being uncomfortable about initials is if it is ASS or something of the sort. No worries about OMG! In fact, people might not notice and if they do they might find it funny or interesting for a minute and then move on. I wouldn't worry about it. Use the name you love!!
