Hello ladies!
I've been lurking for some time and have decided it's time to tell my story. Both DH and I are 37 and are trying for our first. We have learned that I have high FSH 12.5 and AMH 5.95, but the RE is unconcerned about this even though her nurse said it might be PCOS. She said it just means that I may react differently to drugs and not to worry. My HSG was normal. DH, on the other hand, has a low sperm count with only 1% morphology. The RE suggests going straight to IVF, but as we don't have insurance coverage, this is not a great option for us. So it looks like we're going to try an IUI in February to see how I react to meds and how many sperm we get post-wash. My mother is pushing for donor sperm, but all the options (and lack of them) is really making my head spin and I just want to stay in bed and sulk. It doesn't help that DH feels that once we stop trying it's going to happen naturally. Ah, bless him.

Thank you all for the kind welcome!
As for the high FSH and AMH the RE was puzzled. She said that the AMH was at the high end of normal and it makes her think that it can somehow counteract the high FSH- if I understand her correctly. I had a good number of follies on my scan, and she mentioned that, too.
Her nurse,on the other hand, thinks I could have PCOS, and the high FSH indicates that my body is working harder to ovulate.
Me: 36, DH: 42
Dx: DOR and MFI
DH: low count + very low motility; hormones all normal; Sperm DNA Frag. test = poor to fair; male karyotyping normal
Me: FSH 13.4 + AMH 0.26 + hypothyroidism; Scratch the hypothyrodism (?); Blood clotting and immune panel all negative; endometrial biopsy normal

Welcome!
My husband used to tell me helpful tips to help us conceive, such as "just relax." At the recommendation of someone on another board, I got him the book "How to Make Love to a Plastic Cup: A Guy's Guide to Infertility" and it REVOLUTIONIZED the way he now speaks to me about our issues. He finally gets it!
Best of luck with your upcoming cycle!
