10 month wakeful period???

we're in hell.  DS was up last night about 12 times.  I slept with him on the couch on my chest from 11pm-6am.  He would wake and scream.  We fed him asparagus last night so we thought it was gas.

Tonight he woke up at 130 am and he's been screaming ever since.  He won't let us give him gas medicine or anything else.  All he does is scream.  DH finally got him quiet but it's been an hour and a half.

What's going on?

Re: 10 month wakeful period???

  • DD was always like that when she was growing, teething or had an ear infection. It was usually one of the first two. Hang in there.

  • that was the case for us with ear infections or teething.

    Hope he feels better.

  • The hardest month for me was when my oldest daughter was 10 months old.  I swear I didn't sleep one bit the entire month!  We put a matress on the ground and I layed with my daughter, she just kept moving everywhere.  It ends up my daughter learned to walk, talk, and got her first 6 teeth (all at once).  It was a very busy month for her and I guess it affected her sleeping.  After 5-6 weeks she went back to her regular sleeping pattern, I had to just ride it out.  That being said, it was seriously tough.  I felt like I was a walking zombie.  Good luck, I hope your son sleeps again soon.

I still remember this time period after almost 4 years.

DS woke up this am with a fever so I can't send him to daycare.  I'm making an appointment and maybe they can shed some more light or confirm what you all have told me.

And i try to give DS Motrin/Tylenol but he spits it back out.
