Flashlight game?

Anyone heard of the flashlight trick?  You are supposed to shine a flashlight real close to your belly and the baby will respond to light by kicking or moving away from it?   I have a pretty laid back baby (compared to what I read from some of you!) So I thought I'd try it and see.....LO wasn't really too into it, until I turned the flashlight off and it started moving around! Haha....either it was a fan of the light or was kicking me to say "It's about time you left me alone!"   :-)    Just seeing if anyone else has tried this?

Re: Flashlight game?

  • I do sometimes at night when i am laid in bed.. I have a little clip on LED compter light and I use that when I am videoing him bouncing around in there on my phn... he chases the light sometimes which is funny.

What really makes him go nuts now is my doppler... I usually do that at night and he kicks up a storm...makes the doppler make crazy noises when he kicks.. so funny.

Also if you poke him or rub a circle on your belly he uses it for target practise and kicks..it's kinda cool.. till he gives you a swift one haha

  • Ya, they r not too fond of the doppler due to the noise and the waves it gives off. At my last appt at 30 weeks, baby girl kept moving as far away from it as possible and even turning on her side to avoid it. It was pretty funny bc the nurse literally had to chase her all around my belly to get a good heartbeat reading. Lol.
