We were in the grocery store today and the kids were singing their ABC's the double cart. A woman turns to me and smiles and says, they're sweet. Me-Thanks Her-(after doing a double take at my belly) you're having another? Me-yes Her-then you're done right? Me-not sure, maybe. Her-Wow you're crazy...(trying to be nicer) but big families are nice, and your kids are cute so... End conversation. When did 3 possibly 4 kids become a "big family". A pregnant belly apparently means people can tell you exactly what is on their minds. Bring it on.

"Wow, you're crazy for making unsolicited comments to strangers."
And yes, pregnancy means that others are allowed to lose their filters or basic decency.
I love the "was this planned?" question. I think that my last month of pregnancy will find me responding in not-so-nice ways. I'm with you... Bring it on.
I do find it funny that 3 kids is considered a big family. I tend to think that 6+ is a big family. Then again, I may be biased because we are hoping for 4 and maybe more.
Love it.... When people find out I'm having my third boy, they always look sympathetic and say things like "Well, you can always have a 4th I guess." Really? Because I'm at all disappointed in having my three boys? Stupid people.
I do get asked the same thing to, "this is it, right?" Maybe... maybe no... why do you care?

This happens to me, too, except we're having our third girl. Um, yeah...I am not disappointed with having all girls, TYVM!
I got laid off at the end of 2011, but when people at work found out I was pg for the third time around Thanksgiving, one lady stormed into my office an told me I was selfish and irresponsible for getting pg again, and my life affects hers whether I like it or not so I need to think about what I'm doing to the company, etc etc. I was SO mad!
Another lady at work, who I know is having TTTC, came to my office and called me afertile b!tch when she heard the news. She came back later to say she was joking (I don't think she was, but I was forgiving on this one) and to say congrats.
It really is bizarre (and can be maddening) the reactions that people have to other people's pregnancies.
I have a 3 1/2 year old son, an 11 month old son and am due with our 3rd son in February. I get these comments ALL the time about how it must have been a surprise pregnancy, how I sure am going to have my hands full, how people hope I am done having kids (this comment makes me feel like some kind of breeding animal for some reason), and how I must be disappointed because I am having another boy.
at first I was shocked at how freely people speak - especially to someone who is obviously very pregnant and perhaps slightly emotional or sensitive at times... now I'm just used to it. I just smile when I pass someone giving us a look like we're crazy.
