Austin or Zane?

Last night my husband and I were talking names and he actually told me to write this post! (I really can't put into words why this was so surprising, but you'll have to trust me, it was! :-)  Anyway...

We've had a horrible time trying to pick a first name for our little guy.  We're looking for a name that is not in the top 100 or so in New Jersey, but that is not so crazy out there (I'm sure you all know what I mean).  We've manged to come up with  2 possible names that we both like.  They both have minor drawbacks for us, but we do like them a lot.  The mn will be Christopher since it is a family tradition for the eldest son to have dad's name as the mn (and I love the tradition).

So, which do you like better?  

Austin Christopher (last name starts with "K" and ends with "N" and is VERY Irish)

Zane Christopher

After you rank these names, if you have any other suggestions, we'd love to hear them, but I can tell you that I really really do not like any of the "E" names (i.e. Elliot, Eli, Elias, Emmett, Everett, etc.)

**With all due respect, we are not looking for opinions as to whether you like Austin or Zane - just which one you like better. And I only say this so no one wastes their time explaining why they don't like the names.**

I like Austin a lot, so it gets my vote. It was on my long-list.

Zane isn't my style, but I kind of like it and thinks it sounds good with Christopher.

How funny, my nephew's name is actually Zane Austin + 2nd mn.

Out of the two, I would pick Austin Christopher.

Thanks for the suggestons!!! My HB vetoed Micah (which made me very sad since I love the name) and since our BIL & SIL just named their dog Griffin, it is a no-go too. 

As for Miles and Reid, they are both on our longer list of names that haven't been vetoed yet.

Us too!  But unfortunately any name we even remotely agree on ends with N.

I think both choices are great. I am leaning towards Zane. 

I had never hear this name until recently when I met a friend's husband with that name. It fits him perfectly so now I love it. I could never use it because I actually know a Zane.

Haha, I was going to say that all Zane brought to mind was, "Listen to your friend Billy Zane, he's a cool dude."

I like Austin better. I also love a pp suggestion of Wade.
