Friday the 13th babies

I am normally not into the hype about the "13th" but now that it is here and I am getting closer to my due date, I really don't want the baby to come today. My mom said I already jinxed myself and he is going to come today, I hope she's wrong since it would be too early for him anyway!

Of course, I will not really care if he decided to make his debut today. I just can't help checking the clock thinking, "Okay, 2.5 hours down, 21.5 to go!" Ha ha!

Anyone else feel like this?

    I really would rather not have this LO on Friday the 13th and have said so, so I think I jinxed myself, too. I'm up after some bloody show and now what seem like early contractions about every 8 minutes apart. We also set up my induction date yesterday, so I think that also jinxed things for me. We'll see!

     

    Edit: Change my vote... Friday the 13th babies are awesome!! DD was born today after all <3

    I'm in the hospital being induced right now and will have the baby today. Big flippin' deal that she'll be born on Friday the 13th. Anyone born on the 13th has their bday fall on a Friday every once in while. More often than not, their birthdays are on any of the other 6 days of the week.

    If I had the baby today and all went well, Friday the 13th would be one of the luckiest day's of my life:)

    I wouldn't be disappointed if LO is born today.  I'd rather he be born tomorrow, but at the same time it would be kinda neat in a way.

    i would love it if my baby came today....im ready for her to be out and this way we would have a lovely weekend with my husband home and not having to worry about work!

    I am "overdue" but I still would rather LO stay put, I do not want a Friday the 13th baby. exDH was a Friday the 13th baby and it was brought up a lot, I thought it was kind of stupid.

    It would not bother me at all to have a baby today. FIL called DH last night about some other things, and at one point I heard DH say, "what? Well we can't really control that." Once he hung up, I asked what that was about, and sure enough MIL had told FIL to tell DH for us not to have the baby on Friday the 13th. I knew when I heard his response that they had said something about that (insert eye roll). I'm sure they were kidding (I hope), but I really don't get why people would care if their baby was born on a Friday the 13th.

    I'm opposite. We found we were pregnant on May 13th, which was also a Friday.  Next to hearing the heart beat and seeing her in the ultrasound, it was the 3rd happiest day for me!  I am just trying to deal now with a case of the blues because I was sure she'd come today - and of course no signs and much more likely she'll come in another week or so.

    Today is my due date, so I'm ready for LO!

    That said, I live in a VERY small town in rural Tennessee, and last Friday the 13th (may 2011) 3 freshmen boys who attended the local high school were killed in a car accident. So since the community is so tight-knit, everyone is sort of using today to remember the boys because this is the first Friday the 13th anniversary of their deaths. Although I don't believe in the superstition, I really wouldn't want my LO's birthday and arrival to coincide with a time so painful for everyone we know, KWIM?
