Hi, all.  I'm hoping to find some support in this group.  I had lurked a little before but for some reason felt overwhelmed.  I guess it was because I had never been around as many people who were in the same situation with a special needs child and i'm used to feeling alone.  I'm 29, married, with an 8 year old son and a 7 year old daughter.  My son was diagnosed with High Functioning Autism when he was 4 and it's been quite the journey.  He was in gen-ed classes up until this year (3rd grade) when we had a devastating family situation that caused major setbacks and he was moved to an Autistic Impairment class.  This was quite the heartache for me but he's coming around again.  There's so much more to our story but I won't write a book.   I just wanted to make an intro before I started posting.  Thanks!

I'm new to the board. I have an almost 12 year old high functioning autistic son. Then I have 2 other children, my 8 year old has some developmental delays than I have a 5 year old and we have another baby on the way. My son is in gen ed but has an aide to get him through the day. Welcome a board!
