Don't need to worry, right?

I was noticing that DD isn't talking as much lately. She was using about 6-9 words regularly but since the holidays isn't talking as much, she still uses a few (mom, dad, hi, bye) but has stopped using others (done, more, etc.).

She has been working on physical stuff (climbing, steps, etc.) this is a phase right or should I worry? And she's teething like crazy (working on 3 that I can feel/tell are coming in) She's still a little cuddle bug and loves one on one playtime if that makes a difference.

She has her 18 month appt. next month and I'll certainly ask then but should I be worried in the meantime?

  • Garrison definitely dropped words after she mastered them.  I freaked a bit but now I can't get her to shut up ; )  So, I would say it's normal.

  • It's normal to focus on one area more. So if she's focusing on gross motor skills it makes sense that you won't hear as much speech wise.

  • Thanks, that's what I thought but it feels good to get confirmation.
