My UO: I think gender reveals are super AWish!!

What do you mean by gender reveals?
Do you think it's AWish if I tell someone that I'm having a boy or a girl...?  Would it be AWish if they asked me?  I know I don't ask what people are having because I've known a lot of people that waited until the baby was born to find out.

(Sorry for the rambling and stupid question... I'm asking because I seriously think I'm missing what it is that you're talking about and I was trying to figure it out.  I'm genuinely interested)

Oh no, no, that's not what I meant at all. I should have been more clear. I'm talking about when people have a party that is specifically to reveal the gender of their baby.  I've seen a lot of them where they have the inside of a cake or cupcakes frosted a certain color (blue or pink) and they cut it open and take pictures being all surprised and showing their families. I have no issue with telling your family and friends about what gender your baby is....that's exciting!! But hosting a party with that specific purpose....AW.

Yep, can be; however, this is my compromise with MH. When we get PG, he wants to find out the gender. I don't. I don't plan to invite the whole world to the reveal, but I think our immediate families would treasure the memory.

This is how I feel. I don't expect anyone else to care but I know our immediate family would. I also don't live near them so we'd never have the whole cake thing. Maybe I'm an AW. I don't really care either way. I'm gonna be excited about my baby and I know my family will as well.

Of course they are! It is the whole idea behind it. What's wrong with being excited about your baby?

While other people are excited, no one else is as excited as you. It is VERY hard for gender reveals to not come off as tacky. While I am excited for people having kids, I'd be just as excited about a text as I am about watching them cut open a cake to see if it's pink or blue. And with the text I'm not obligated to attend yet another even.

So, what you're saying is, you don't want to come to my balloon release?

Wait, wait wait.  What about the doves rr??

Both. It's the gender of my baby. Nothing can be too much & everyone best show the eff up and squeee at my stomach.

No but I would love a zebra stripe Minnie Mouse candy apple!

This is me, I feel like I am late getting to some of the post and the question has already been answered so instead of just repeating someone I "agree" or "this"...

I am the opposite. If I am late to a thread, and feel like I have nothing more to contribute, I don't respond. I sometimes wonder if that makes me appear as if I don't contribute to the board enough. Oh well. I can't be on here all day.

*I don't give a rip about my post count. I am never getting to platinum.

    The exact opposite.

Do you think I'm a PW kerr?  I got my BGP on.

Not at all. Perhaps because I like you. Or because I don't pay enough attention. Either way, its still a no haha

I HATE it when people whistle.

My mother used to do it incessantly.  Not really whistling a tune, just whistling while she was nervous or working on something.  DH whistles all.the.time.  Yes, I knew that while we were dating.  I love him and obviously saw past his whistling.  He's not a bad whistler, his is just annoying at times - it doesn't drive me bonkers.

But... I have a coworker that whistles.  Horribly.  He's been doing it more often and louder lately.  (He works in an office shared with two other workers.  We don't close doors here and my office is very close to theirs, so I hear it).  I used to work in an office with a chick that would whistle "Happy Birthday" all.the.time.  Poorly, too.

Urgh, this is something that I'll never be able to get away from.

OMG, I'm not the only one! I f'ing hate whistling. I think it is the most annoying thing on the planet. My husband "power whistles" b/c he knows it drives me crazy. I can laugh at that, but when he whistles and doesn't realize it, I have steam coming out of my ears.

My boss walks around the office and whistles this horrendous tune constantly. And it is always the same, lame butt tune.

I think both of those are suuuuuper cute!!! That's not what I'm talking about at all though. Those pictures look more like what I would use for shower invitations  or even to put on facebook to announce to the world what we're having. They seem like the appropriate amount of attention for the situation. Still SUPER cute and everyone would love them but not everyone-come-over-and-sit-and-hold-your-breath-while-I-cut-into-this-cake-to-see-if-we're-having-a-boy-or-girl.

Well duh. Obviously you aren't excited about your baby and no one cares about you if you don't throw a huge "Squeee! Sex of my baby Party". You have to to prove that you love your baby.

The fake "Am I pregnant" posts are getting realllllllllllly redundant.

Title of post: "Am I preggers?"

Body of post: "Haha! Just kidding"

20 responses: " You are sooo funny!"

There. It's all laid out so now no one has to do it any more. TYVM.

    This. Agreed. Yes.
