1st Gen iPod recall question

For those of you who mailed in your old iPod, did you delete all music off of it? I don't have any pics just music on mine & wanted to delete the music so I guess it can't be "stolen". I know I'm crazy, but I've paid good money and don't want it to get in the wrong hands. How does one even go about deleting the music??

We did not. In order to delete it, you just plug it in to itunes and clear all the songs off your ipod.

Thanks hepcats!! I can always count on you to answer me quickly!! It's just been so long since I've had it plugged in... I wasn't sure if I had to connect it or if I was able to delete from the iPod itself. I figured it out though. So thanks a bunch!!

I googled:  https://www.apple.com/support/ipodnano_replacement/  and signed up since I have a first generation!

Really??  I'm here every single day.  The only days I haven't been on in the recent past was over Christmas when I was out of state.  Hmm.
