So I know this is terrible.. (vent)

So my sister in law is also pregnant and very much a complainer and whiner. She is due ten days after me and I am now 2 days late (to add insult to injury lol).. and I just got a call that she went in for an elective induction. These are the first grandbabies on my husbands side and I can't help but feel a little irritated! I feel bad even telling you ladies, but I figure its better than saying it to the family lol :) Ok thanks for letting me vent!

  • Nah, go ahead and vent.  I admit I'd be peeved too, although I wouldn't admit it to anyone I knew.  I wonder if there's some reason you don't know about.  You'd think if she'd been planning it in advance that you would've heard about it before today.

  • Same story here.My sister inlaw is 34 weeks and is in labor and delivery. She got admitted this morning. She will have her baby by tomorrow and she is so excited about it because they told her the baby is healthy and should be fine to go home and not have a nicu stay I dont know how they know that alrady. Her last baby was born at 32 weeks she cant hold babies in for some reason :( . Im overdue here AHHHHH. I love her to death but In all honesty I am beyond jealous and cried this morning because of it. I feel bad for posting this but I want my baby tooooo. She will have her baby before me and I wish her the best Im happy for her but:( I want my baby so bad.

  • Nah, don't feel bad. My sister is due 2 weeks after me, and i'm afraid she'll go early and me late...and she's going to "beat" me. It isn't like...keeping me up at night, but I will be PISSED if she has her kid before me!

I guess its not the same because your sil had an induction opposed to mine not being in control of her situation. So now I feel really bad for saying everything I just said.

  • I think most everyone on here can understand. I know I would feel like she was "cutting in line", but wouldn't be able to admit it IRL! I'm also against elective inductions, especially when they're before due date so I'd be side-eying for that.
You will have your LO soon and then it won't matter much. :-)

  • At least you don't have to worry about SIL's baby arriving 10 days after your LO and stealing his/her thunder. Sorry you're overdue though...
