I LOVE my BabyHawk, but have only used front carries. I watched some how-to videos online (thanks ncbelle) and tried a back carry for the first time tonight. It went pretty well for our first try, but I had no idea how to get him off my back. I'm sure it was pretty entertaining to see me moving around on my bed trying to safely get him down. I know there has to be an easier way. Any tips or videos to help me out? Thanks!
Re: BabyHawk Back Carry Question
You basically do the reverse of the hip scoot.
Lean forward. While you're sliding him around your torso, get that arm on the other side of him. Is that as clear as mud? LOL! I'll look for a video tute.

This video is a good one, too.

She also shows the superman, santa toss & hip scoot in one video. So you can see her taking her LO down in between the different methods.
The good thing about using a mei tai or wrap is that you can hold on to the the shoulder straps (or should straps equivalent, in the case of a wrap) to secure your LO as you slide him around and down...until you feel comfortable just sliding him down without holding on to the carrier. The Wrapababy video shows her doing this around 1:21.
