Carafate?

So, instead of giving Reagan SoluTabs (UGH!). The GI doctor added Carafate. It's supposed to coat the lining of her esophagus and stomach and help with pain and reflux.

Do any of you have experience with this? From what I read online..it's a miracle drug. (I'm hoping so!). I hate that they are adding ANOTHER medicine instead of just giving me the solutabs. She goes for a follow up in 2 weeks so I will address it then. Just curious if any of your LO's were on it or have ever tried it?

    Never heard of it, but I hope it helps her.

    Do you think her reflux is causing her to wake at night?  Maybe she's in pain?  I to think of that, but it's so odd that she's sleeping so little right now after STTN for so long.

    That very well could be the reason...

    She just started this new medicine last night and so far, it seems to have helped. She actually slept through the night last night...so maybe we're on to something (I hope) She's been refusing solids lately too and I'm thinking it may be reflux related. Her gag reflex is worse than ever, so I'm not sure what's up. She sees the GI in 2 weeks so I've got lots of questions for him!

    How is Hilyer doing BTW? He looks like he's getting bigger from the picture I saw!
