and OMG - I think they are going to approve it.
And I was 95% convinced they would NEVER!
And OMG! I mean, I probably shouldn't get my hopes up, since it has to be approved by the big boss. But she said "There shouldn't be any problem. I'll run it by him and have an answer for you next week. That way we can start 02/01 with it!"
Um...holy crap!
(I want to change from 40hrs a week working Tues-Sat to 30hrs/wk working 7:30-2 Mon-Fri. I would still be considered full time for medical benefits and would be home in time to get Joey after school. This would allow him to have a snack, chill for an hour or so and then work on some homework. It will just make our nights SOOO much easier!)
I'm really excited -- and nervous. 7:30 is EARLY for me (I have a hard time getting to work for 9 now! LOL) And it's a cut in pay (I curr make a 10% shift differential which I would lose, as well as 10hrs/wk worth of pay but we will be saving $200/wk by not paying their after school care so I'm hoping (have to do the math) that it's almost a wash)!
Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I lack discipline and I know initially I would have a routine for us and would follow it, I do worry about long term and if I would stay on track with it. But I can't worry about long term right now. Just gotta do what I can to help him and I think having him avoid the after school program he is currently in will help tremendously. The kid is just fried at the end of the day - and I don't blame him. By the time we get to him (anywhere from 5:30-7) to get his homework done, he's just tired (and we're tired). This would help so much! Financially it will suck to lose my shift differential and right now, after school is paid from Joe's business so it's not like we will be recouping that (unless he starts paying ME the $200/week fee -- which might work! LOL)
SO many things to think about but I wanted to see if it was even an option before doing too much "wheel turning!" Let the overanalysis begin!
