Ear infection PSA

Apparently not all children pull on their ears as a sign of an ear infection. Some (as my child) throw up.

Just throwing that out there because I thought they all pulled on their ears.

Re: Ear infection PSA

  • DS would stop eating when he had them. No ear tugging.

  • We've got a double right now and no ear pulling at all. Just a fever...

  • Mine showed no signs - ear tugging, throwing up, fussiness, etc. - took her to the doctor for something entirely different (that was when she had suspected HFM - which she did not) and he checked her ears just for the heck of it and found she had a double ear infection.

  • No ear tugging for DS either. And no fever!! He had some pretty nasty congestion, so I took him to the pedi for that and found out he had an ear infection too! I'm so glad I decided to take him in when I did!

  • on the flipside DD pulls her ears all the time and hasn't had an infection. Doc said its either reverberating teething pain, or she just found her ears and likes to hold them.

  • We have an appt in 20 minutes to see what up with LO. The last two nights sleep has SUCKED (of course I wasn't home Monday night so I thought that had something to do with it) but last night was AWFUL!! from 7-1:30 he was literally slept maybe 10-15 minute stretches with lots of crying, ear pulling, nose running... I think I saw another tooth on top this morning... But I want to make sure it's not his ears. His highest temp was 99.4.

  • DD's had two so far and no ear pulling either time. Just a yucky snotty nose that wouldn't go away. Since clearing up the ear infections, she has been pulling on one ear though, but I think its related to teething. Sorry your LO is throwing up :-( I haven't dealt with that yet and I'm certainly not looking forward to it!
