i'm going to buy one for the airplane ride this weekend. what kind of things should i avoid or look for on them?

how much are you willing to spend? do you have an ipad or other tablet?
the thing i'd be the most wary with a dvd player is the battery life. check that and make sure it'll last longer than 2 hours!
we have a touch pad and we just put movies on that for dd to watch. way longer battery life and nice that it can do so much more than just play movies.
