poor DH

DH usually spends the morning and most of the afternoon with J (he takes him into work with him). he does theater at night which is his "me time" and usually it's a pretty good set up for him. this past week he's been swamped at work which means that J goes to FIL's in the morning and BIL watches him in the afternoon while DH gets work done. it just happens to line up with his show opening on friday which means long, exhausting rehearsals at night, right afterwork (we are usually able to do dinner as a family but not for the past 2 weeks.)

he came home last night almost in tears b.c i sent him a picture of J eating a meatball. he was so upset b.c he feels like he's missing out on so much. he just kept saying that he misses us so much and he can't wait for this show to open. he's used to us doing shows together so that would be "our" time.

i'm quietly doing the "i told you so" dance b.c i tried to tell him he'd want to cut back on theater once J was born and he didn't believe me. sucks being right sometimes.

I felt so bad last night. I was doing everything to keep A up until DH got home. He didnt nap well and was ready for bed at 6. DH is supposed to be off at 4, but is swamped and working 12 hour days. The only time he has been seeing him is when he gets him ready in the morning.

I wish DH had something he could cut back on. They are trying to grow enough to hire a 2nd person and are almost there, but for now DH is carrying the entire load. 

It sucks!

Aww, well at least he now knows firsthand why he needed to cut back. It's probably better than you telling him, him not believing you but cutting back anyway, and then always quietly thinking he was right.

With the show opening Friday, you should have your hubby back soon, right? How long is the show running?

yes, but he's commited to shows through next jan! he's directing 3 this spring. at least he'll get paid for 2 of them. but i'll be happy on monday when we can sit down and have dinner together as a family and crash on the sofa

this show only runs 2 weekends, and honestly the opening week is the only issue, most other weeks he's only rehearsing 2-3 a week.

Oh wow...yea ok THAT is busy. Even *just* 2-3 times per week seems like a lot to me. Sorry
