Am I the only EPer that gets ring prints on arms?

Okay, I know back when we all started, a lot of you got the hands free pumping bra.  I never did and never rigged one up.  I am always balancing the bottles against my arm so I can talk on the phone or type on the computer.  I will look down later and see the imprints from the back of the bottle on my arms.  Anyone else a balancer?  I am 6 months pumping and trying to decide how much longer I can go.  I am only getting about 16 or 17 ounces a day. I have already had to supplement and don't know how much more the nips can take.  Just wondered how the other pumping mommas are doing?

  • When I pump in the office I hold the horns up in between my fingers on one hand and surf on my phone with the other.

  • When I use my Freestyle, no. The horns are different so I dont get imprints. When I pump at work I get the rings (Symphony). Im glad I can wear long sleeves now. This Fall it was a little awkward to have the imprints. I felt like they never went away.

  • Could you, instead of balancing them on your arms, balance them on the table? Like sitting super upright and leaning in? I did that before I had my hands free double nurser when I was pumping.

  • I used to do this too (I stopped pumping a month ago).  It was more from pushing the bottles into my boobs so they'd suction correctly.  I would get marks sometimes but they went away pretty quicky. I figured out how to position them pretty well with my regular bra so they would stay put and I could use both hands, but I ended up doing the balancing thing quite a bit too!

  • No, but I can totally see how that would happen! Have you thought about making a hands-free pumping bra? I took a stretched-out nursing bra, cut slits for the flanges and- tada!- pumping bra. I pumped nine months with my son just balancing the bottles on a table, and this is SO much easier.

  • I need to make one!  I am not sure how much longer I am gonna keep going. I have a crack on one side I have had pretty much the whole time. I made it 7 months with DS.  We are getting close to that now. It's a lot harder once you have 2 kids for sure.
  • I used to do that. Now I sit on the floor when I pump and balance the bottles on my legs.

I said I would pump until we can start feeding LO regular milk instead, so at least to a year, We'll see.

  • I just started having to supplement right before Christmas :(   I had to EP right from the beginning, and without the hands free I was miserable! I don't know how you're doing it like that for so long!  I had a complete meltdown one morning while DH was leaving for work (he works at TRU/BRU) and brought one home.  So much better!  How do you complete breast compressions with no hands free bra?  I need both hands to do them.  I would get black and blues on my forearms from the way I had to balance them.  Suck, suck, sucky, suck!

  • I do what I can compression wise.  I usually try to do each side at the end while balancing.  It is an act for sure!!  Not sure that one would make the circus.  Yeah, I am starting to wear out of pumping!
